How to Dress Like Secretary Kim from “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?”
Aside from the sweet kisses, quirky comedy, and bracing romance in “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” we’ve fallen in love with the classicly stylish look of Park Min Young’s Secretary Kim. I know I am not the only person who watched this drama half the time wishing I dressed as sharply. Secretary Kim’s style seems effortless. Whether at the office, on a date, or with friends, we all want to look like Secretary Kim.
So here is our how to guide to create your own “Secretary Kim” look.
At the Office:
Secretary Kim’s officewear follows a very simple pattern: form fitting, knee-length skirt, a loose blouse, and pumps. That’s easy, right? Let’s take a closer look.
The Skirt:
For her skirt, Secretary Kim has chosen a form fitted, high waisted skirt which shows off her figure extremely well. Also, she tends to keep to neutral colors which can be matched with many different blouses. Remember, Secretary Kim doesn’t have many clothes, so she always maximizes what she can wear. Smart girl.
We Recommend:
The Blouse:
Secretary Kim is fashionable not flashy in her choice of tops. Her blouses feature long loose, sleeves, which she often pushes up to just below her elbows. The necklines are always modest, a strong preference in Korean culture, but often include an extra touch. Her signature choice is the the flowing ties down the front. These would ordinarily be tied in a bow, but Secretary Kim has chosen to leave them untied creating depth of detail without the bulk of a bow.
We Recommend:
The Shoes:
Secretary Kim goes sleek and traditional for her shoes preferring a feminine high heeled shoe. The height isn’t excessive; remember she has to walk rapidly to keep up with her long-legged employer. But it is long enough to give her legs a sexy length. She has also chosen a pointed toe shoe — perhaps as a subtle show of strength in the competitive business world.
But what is the biggest secret to Secretary Kim’s footwear? Always match the color of the shoe to the color of the skirt. Whether blue, white, beige, or black she has chosen to blend her look by coordinating her skirt and shoes. We think it was a smart move.
We Recommend:
In the Evening
In the evening, Secretary Kim prefers to let her more feminine side show. If she has to attend formal events or dates, why not look stunning doing it?
The Dress:
Secretary Kim’s taste in dresses leans to a romantic style. Her dresses are made from flowing fabrics that cuddle her figure with a few ruffles for a touch of fun. Her evening looks don’t shy away from bold colors either giving us awe-struck red or cascades of flowers. Is it any wonder that she spends most of her time fending off the male crowd?

Hanging Out With Friends
On her weekends Secretary Kim enjoys letting her hair down. But just because she wants to be comfortable, doesn’t mean she still isn’t dressing her best.
The Outfit:
For her weekend look, Secretary Kim has chosen to be both stylish and comfortable. Her focal piece is an eye catching top from designer Valentino. The top is simple in design, just one word “VLTN” (short for Valentino,) but the red letters give a flit of color in just the right way.
For her jeans, she has chosen to go 90’s retro with a washed blue denim and a high waist, but with a more modern skinny-jean twist.
Her belt too is sleek, but simple. She has chosen a traditional black with a silver buckle. The black anchors the look by adding a touch of dark color in just the right place.
Finally Secretary Kim has added a stylish (and practical) red cardigan to bring her look together. The rich red color picks up on the red in her shirt and the sparkle of red in her hair.
