SKY Castle: A Brief Synopsis
On face value, “SKY Castle” is the story of South Korea’s elite 0.1%. But at its heart, it is a satirical look at the lives and struggles of wealthy parents as they try to build the best future for their children. The cast is made up of four couples and their children.
The Couples of Sky Castle:
Kang Joon Sang(Jung Joon Ho) & Han Seo Jin(Yeom Jung Ah)
An orthopedic professor, Kang Joon Sang is the epitome of self-confidence. In school, he was the best student in the country, and now as an adult, he intends to use his tremendous brain to become hospital director. But when the general manager scouts his friend Hang Chi Young instead, Joon Sang’s chances begin to fade.
The success of Han Seo Jin’s husband and two daughters is the envy of all the elite families. But beneath her perfect exterior, Seo Jin hides secrets no one must ever know.
Writer’s Note: Okay, I have to interject here how incredibly excited I am to see Yeom Jung Ah cast in this. She was incredible as the villain in Yoon Si Yoon’s “Mirror of the Witch.” She gave me shivers for days. fangirls all over the place If I’m honest, everyone else is great too, but if I watch SKY Castle it will be entirely because of her.
Hwang Chi Young(Choi Won Young) & Lee Soo Im(Lee Tae Ran)
Hwang Chi Young is a talented neurologist with a deep value for life rather than money. Although he lost his parents at a young age, he was still able to attend a local medical school on a scholarship. His hard work eventually paid off, and he was hired by the Junam University Hospital.
Lee Soo-young is a writer of fairy tales with a deep affection and consideration for others.
Woo Yang Woo(Cho Jae Yoon) & Jin Jin Hee(Oh Na Ra)
Woo Yang Woo is a professor of orthopedics. Although he has always been good in his field, the sudden confrontation between Kang Joon-sang and Hwang Chi-young has made him uneasy.
Jin Jin-Hee is a passionate shopaholic who grew up under the watchful eyes of her wealthy father. Although his influence has made Jin Hee into a role model, he obsessively scans her every move.
Cha Min Hyuk (Kim Byung-chul) & Noh Seung Hye(Yoon Se Ah)
Lastly, Cha Min Hyuk is a professor of law. He lives his life full of justice and happiness on the outside. But in his heart, he is extremely selfish. His greatest desire is to recreate the political success of the Kennedy family for his own family in what he calls “Korea’s House of Kennedy.”
Noh Seung Hye may look like an average stay-at-home mom, but in reality, she holds a Ph.D. Although she has lived in a strict family, she is fiercely protective of them.
Other Cast Members:
“Kim Seo-hyung will take the role of Kim Joo Young, a top-level admissions coordinator. She is foreign to the elite way of life and has never heard of the mothers of Daechi-Dong (the wealthy neighborhood.) At work, she will analyze and manage everything from school records to sleep styles, but in public she is very withdrawn. However, she will hold a great deal of power in the lives of the elite as they try to raise their children’s status through education.
Lee Hyun Jin will play the role of Kim Joo Young’s right-hand man. He is a man of perfection in his work and life, and he seems to be quietly and faithfully following his employer. However, his deepest desire is to take her position.
“Sky Castle will air on JTBC on November 23, following “Third Charm.”
