Mask #1 – Healing Birds -Botanical Mask: Nutrition Avocado (got this in one of my subscription boxes)
BEFORE I DID THE MASK: I washed my face and patted dry. I just wash my face with soap and water or put on one of masks right after I get out of the shower at night. This mask is advertised that it will “intensely beautify your skin”
TAKING THE MASK OUT OF PACKAGE/PUTTING THE MASK ON: It is a VERY thin mask, much like a 2nd skin. I actually was afraid that I was going to rip it. The mask is cream-based which makes it very smooth and silky. The mask was very easy to put on, and I just rubbed the extra cream on my hands into my hands which moisturized my hands as well.
WEARING THE MASK: The mask stayed on quite well and didn’t move once I got it on. I kept it on for 20 mins.
RESULT: This mask did EXACTLY what it advertised! It left my skin EXTREMELY smooth and creamy. It was very moisturized, to the point that I didn’t wear another mask for a week because my skin still felt moisturized. Very Relaxing!
RATING: If you need a mask to moisturize your skin…DO THIS MASK! I loved that it was creamy which was new for me. I loved that my skin was moisturized and stayed moisturized for a long time. I really think the nutrients from the mask seeped deep into my skin while I had the mask on. I am curious about this brand’s other masks and how they are different compared to each other.
Score: 5/5
Mask #2 – Dual Balancing – Cucumber/Burdock Soothing Mask (I got this in one of my subscription boxes)
BEFORE I DID THE MASK: I washed my face and patted dry. I just washed my face with soap and water or put on one of the masks right after I get out of the shower at night. This mask’s instructions were all in Korean so I couldn’t “follow the instructions” on this one, so I just did my normal routine that I do before I use a mask.
TAKING THE MASK OUT OF PACKAGE/PUTTING THE MASK ON: I opened the package and IMMEDIATELY got a strong perfume/chemical smell. I did not like the smell of this mask. This mask was also thin and more liquid/gel-based. Also, it was difficult to put on because the mask was a little big for my face
WEARING THE MASK: Even the mask was a little difficult to put on, but it did stay on well once it was on my face. My face stung a bit when the mask was on. It didn’t hurt or anything but it definitely stung a little. This mask did feel a little cheap compared to mask #1.
RESULT: This mask also gets the job done. My face was moisturized after wearing it for 20 mins. My skin was a little red after I pulled the mask off but I think it was because of the ingredients. This mask seemed more medical like to me.
RATING: This is also a good mask. You will get moisturized skin after using this mask. I did not like the chemical smell I got when I opened the package. I think that was my least favorite part of this mask because the smell obviously was still there when I put the mask on as well.
Score: 3/5
Mask #3 – Rapha Peri Korean Cactus Natural Moisture Mask (I got this in one of the subscription boxes)
BEFORE I DID THE MASK: I washed my face and patted dry. I just washed my face with soap and water or put on one of the masks right after I get out of the shower at night. My skin was SUPER DRY! The packaging for this mask was REALLY pretty. The mask was also quite heavy in the packaging. I was not expecting that at all!
TAKING THE MASK OUT OF PACKAGE/PUTTING THE MASK ON: The mask was SUPER WET! I opened the package and water literally dripped off the mask and out of the package. It ran down my hands and neck once I got the mask on.
WEARING THE MASK: Since the mask was so wet, it was a little difficult to put on with the liquid flowing down my hands. Since it was so saturated though, it definitely stayed stuck to my face. It did not move in the 20 mins I was wearing it. The smell was refreshing and fresh. It woke me up.
RESULT: My face was still wet when I took the mask off. I think there was so much moisture in this mask that my skin could not absorb it all. This mask DEFINITELY moisturizes your skin.
RATING: If you have dry skin and are constantly looking for moisture, this mask was made for you! For me, this mask was a little too wet, and I did not like the liquid flowing down my hands and face, but it definitely moisturized my skin. BUT I think this would be a very good one to use in the middle of winter when the weather has sucked all the moisture out of my skin.
Score: 4/5
Mask #4 – DERMAL – Hyaluronate Collagen Essence Facial Mask (Bought this one myself)
BEFORE I DID THE MASK: I washed my face and patted dry. I just wash my face with soap and water or put on one of masks right after I get out of the shower at night. My skin was SUPER DRY!
TAKING MASK OUT OF PACKAGE/PUTTING MASK ON: The packaging for this mask made me think of a doctor or prescription. Mask advertised that it is supposed to give my skin direct nutrition. It is supposed to make my skin look fresh, moist and bright. The mask was saturated so the mixture stayed on my hands after I put the mask on so I just rubbed that into my hands and neck. When I opened the packaging, the mask smelled a little like perfume but it was very mild. This mask had to perfect amount of wetness/moisture. It was little too big for my face but it was easy to put on. What I liked about this mask is that it had little pieces of the mask that ran all the way up to your eyes which was unique to this mask. So the under part of my eyes even got the benefits of the mask.
WEARING THE MASK: My skin stung a bit as I wore the mask but it was very mild. I think this was a good thing though because it told me that the mask was doing its job. I found the mask to be very relaxing and refreshing.
RESULT: I liked the results of this mask a lot. I felt like my skin had a layer of moisture on it that I rubbed in after I took the mask off. My skin also felt tightened and plumper after the mask.
RATING: I liked this mask a lot. I think it is a quality mask for the price. Good value for the quality. It didn’t irritate my skin and left my skin feeling refreshed, fresh and bright, JUST like the package advertised! My skin (after several hours) still feels moisturized and healthy. 5/5
MASK #5 – Mitomo – Refinol Facial Essence Mask (Japanese made mask…wanted to try something different) (Bought this one myself)
BEFORE I DID THE MASK: I washed my face and patted dry. I just wash my face with soap and water or put on one of masks right after I get out of the shower at night. This time my skin was dry but still had some moisture or oil in it before I put on the mask.
TAKING MASK OUT OF PACKAGE/PUTTING MASK ON: One HUGE difference with this mask versus all the other ones was that this mask was made in Japan. I wanted to try something new and I was curious. This packaging also looked very clinical and reminded me of a doctor’s office. It has English instructions so I just followed the instructions on the back. Mask seemed VERY light weight, even in the package and you could tell there was a lot of liquid in the package, before opening it. The mask itself was very thin and light weight and surprisingly for the amount of liquid in the package, it was saturated but not dripping with liquid when it came out of the package. It was a little big again for my face but it went on easily.
WEARING THE MASK: The mask felt very refreshing, cooling and nice on my skin. There were eyeflaps that even covered your entire eye so if you wanted to lay down and close your eyes to relax more and give some love to your eyelids, you have that option which I thought was unique.
RESULT: I was surprised by this mask a lot because I didn’t know what to expect. When I took the mask off, there was a refreshing layer of moisture on my skin that I rubbed into my skin. My skin definitely feels softer and refreshed after the mask. It didn’t turn red at all. I could definitely tell that my skin had absorbed something or gotten some kind of nutrients after this mask.
RATING: I would definitely recommend this mask to people. I was so surprised by the results. I just didn’t know what to expect from this mask. My skin will have moisture for a long time after this mask. It was worth it, branching out and trying another kind of mask FOR SURE! 5/5

Oooh, I love mask recommendations. My current favorite is the Mediheal Tea Tree Care Solution Essential Mask (Okay, I bought it originally because of the BTS pack) – it feels very cleansing but also very gentle. Some masks are too drying for me. My other favorite (non-kpop!) is the Primera Lotus Seed Sheet Mask Hydrating which I buy from Sephora. It is extra moisturizing but doesn’t make me break out. I had to laugh at your experiences with the very thin masks – one blogger I saw on You Tube called it a “face condom.”
