Casting News: Jin Goo joins Ha Ji Won in Prometheus

Jin Goo joins Ha Ji Won in Prometheus

In what is promising to be the next big blockbuster of 2018, espionage drama “Prometheus” has just cast Jin Goo as its male lead.  (Aw, this is bringing back all the Descendants of the Sun feels.)

According to a report from Jae Media Group, Jin Goo will be playing Park Hoon, an ambassador serving in the North Korean Embassy in Moscow, who gets swept up by “a whirlwind of destiny” into the extreme action surrounding an undercover denuclearization mission.  Park Hoon is considered the character of conscience who connects together the stories of the other characters and “penetrates the core of the story.”

I can just see Jin Goo pulling off this character really well.  He always brings a powerful presence to his characters which is both commanding and endearing; the best example being his iconic role as the stoicly humourous Sergeant Major Dae Young in “Descendants of the Sun,” which he played as both fierce and lovable.

In a role literally written for her, Ha Ji Won has accepted female lead role opposite Jin Goo.  Ha Ji Won will play the role of a lead intelligence officer tasked with an undercover mission to denuclearize North Korea.  Earlier reporting mentioned that her charecter and Jin Goo’s would go undercover as a married couple to infilltrate North Korea under the project code named “Prometheus,” but this has not been confirmed in more recent updates.  The other members of Ha Ji Won’s team have yet to be cast.

All reports promise that “Prometheus” will be filled with suspense, action, and spectaclular cinematography.  The drama is currently being planned for late this year.

So what do you think?  Do you plan to watch “Prometheus” when it airs?  Who is your dream cast for rest of Ha Ji Won’s team?
