Popular Actors You Didn’t Know Performed Their Own OST’s

OST’s (Original Soundtracks) are the background music that sets the mood of a drama.  They can make us feel scared, happy, or anxious…or turn us into puddles of tears on the floor.  But sometimes who is singing the music may make it even more special.  While we’ve come to expect certain singers to perform the OSTs we love (Gummy for example,) surprisingly many of our favorite KDrama soundtracks were performed by their leading actors!

So hang on to your ramen, because your favorite actors may surprise you with their hidden musical talent.  Here are eight times you didn’t know your KDrama crush could sing.

Park Seo Joon

Park Seo Joon has a mesmerizing voice.  He has performed in numerous OST’s, including “Kill Me Heal Me” and “She Was Pretty.”  His interpretation of “Our Tears” for his drama “Hwarang” is so heartfelt that we are left in tears too.

Ji Chang Wook

Ji Chang Wook’s voice isn’t just entrancing when he speaks.  This actor can SING.  His voice is like a hug on a summer’s day.  Trust me, you will want to put this performance of “101 Reasons Why I Love You” from his drama “Suspicious Partner” on repeat.

Lee Joon Gi

The limits of Lee Joon Gi’s talent seem to be endless.  But you may not have known that he often features his singing on his tours and in his dramas.  Here he is singing live “One Day” from his drama “Arang and the Magistrate.”

Seo In Guk

The list of OSTs Seo In Guk is HUGE(some of the dramas he doesn’t even star in, like “With You” from Tomorrow with You.)  But our favorite is this performance of “All for You” with co-star Jung Eun Ji for the drama Reply 1997.  Could they be any cuter?

Click here to get the OST albums for The Master’s Sun, Reply 1997, High School King of Savvy, Hundred Million Stars Fall from the Sky. (Note: Seo In Guk performed the OST “Star” from Hundred Million Stars Fall from the Sky with his co-star Jung So Min. You will cry your eyes out listening to it. We sure did.)

 Park Bo Gum:

Did you know that buttery voice singing “My Person” in hit drama “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” was really Park Bo Gum?  We didn’t either!  Bogummie is such a talented performer.

Unfortunately, Park Bo Gum’s OST recordings aren’t available for sale anymore, but his fun-filled album “Blue Bird” can still be found on Apple Music. Check it out below:

Park Hyung Sik

Park Hyung Sik has sung the soundtrack for many of his dramas, but we are in love his performance of  “Because of You” from “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.”  Anytime, that’s how often we could listen to this.

Lee Jong Suk

We are completely blown away by Lee Jong Suk’s performance of “Come to Me” from his drama “While You Were Sleeping.”  We knew his speaking voice was like fine silk, but who knew he could sing like this?!

Click here to get the OST album from While You Were Sleeping. (Bonus: Lead actress Suzy also sings part of the OST.)

Kim Soo Hyun

Okay, maybe this one isn’t such a surprise for anyone who has seen his performance in “Dream High,” but boy can Kim Soo Hyun sing.  Here he sings “In Front Of Your House” from his drama “You Who Came From the Stars.”

Click here to get the OST album for You Who Came From the Stars or The Moon That Embraces the Sun.
