Kim Nam Gil Chooses Drama Comeback with “Hot Blooded Priest”

Kim Nam Gil Hot Blooded Priest

Be still my heart!  Kim Nam Gil(Live Up to the Name) has chosen his next drama and it sounds FANTASTIC.  After over a year away from the small screen, Kim Nam Gil has chosen “Hot Blooded Priest,” the story of a NIS agent turned priest turned Sherlock Holmes, to be his comeback drama.  That description alone would be enough to get me fangirling for days, but on top of that the screenwriter is none other than the writer of “The Good Doctor” and “Chief Kim.”  How fast can I add this one to my “to watch” list?

The story of “Hot Blooded Priest” starts when a hot-tempered priest (Kim Nam Gil) and a cowardly detective are forced to team up to solve the murder of an elderly bride.  The unlikely duo soon become the ultimate crime solving team, cracking the toughest of cases with their fire and ice duo.

Kim Sung Kyun(Untouchable) will join Kim Nam Gil as the cowardly detective who becomes his crime solving partner.  Sung Kyun’s character originally was an enthusiastic, eager detective, but when his partner was killed three years earlier, his confidence in himself died too.  Now in an effort to appear stronger than he feels, he tries to impress with the way he speaks.  (Please, please, let him misuse every expression he says, because this could be hilarious.)

Also joining them is Honey Lee(Rebel Who Stole the People) in the role of an overly zealous prosecutor.   Ambitious in everything she does, her character is described as “strong to the weak” and “weak to the strong.”  (Yikes!  This can’t be good for our off-the-books crime stoppers.)

“Hot Blooded Priests” is planned to air this coming January on SBS.  (Well, I know what I’m going to be doing this winter.  Squeal!)

So is anyone else excited to see Kim Nam Gil back in a dramaland?  Will you be watching “Hot Blooded Priest?”
