Rice Cooker Deals

If there is one item a Korean kitchen can’t do without it would be the rice cooker. A staple of EVERY meal, there is nothing like the comforting smell of warm rice ready to eat. And while you can make rice on the stovetop, having a rice cooker makes it SO much easier to prepare — and if you’re like me, far less likely to end up with burnt rice. hehe.

KDrama Streaming Services

OnDemandKorea: $20 off Premium Annual Subscription with Coupon

OnDemandKorea is the rescuer of many niche KDramas not carried on the bigger Asian drama providers. If you love the dramas from smaller networks like OCN and TV Chosun, this is a can’t miss addition to your streaming platform collection. For a limited time over Thanksgiving OnDemandKorea is offering their Premium Annual Subscription (reg. $109.99) at $89.99 with coupon code SALE2020. So if you’ve been secretly eyeing this service, now is a great time to take the plunge.

iQiyi: Up to 50% Off Standard and Premium VIP Annual Subscriptions

The new name in the KDrama streaming corner is iQiyi. Originally a Chinese Drama, Movie, and Variety streaming platform solely, iQiyi has lately begun to add a few currently airing KDramas to the platform as well. As a CDrama as well as KDrama fan myself, I’ve been using the iQiyi website and phone app for about six months and have been thrilled. Although many of their CDramas (although not all) are also available on Viki.com, iQiyi’s biggest draw is that it provides early access and instant subbing for currently airing dramas. The immediate subbing alone was enough to have me scurrying to give them my money.

For a limited time only, iQiyi is now offering their annual VIP subscriptions (includes early access to episodes as well as exclusive VIP content such as Chinese movies) for 50% off. These offers don’t come around often, so I HIGHLY recommend grabbing it while you can.

Still uncertain if you should take the plunge? Check out what TeaRexDramaMama had to say about trying iQiyi at the end of her The Spies Who Loved Me Recap (a 2020 KDrama provided only on iQiyi’s platform.)

Language-Learning:

Talk to Me In Korean: Up to 10-15% Off Books

Interested in learning Korean? Talk to Me In Korean is the biggest name in Korean language learning for a reason. Very learner-friendly, you will fall in love with the easy, conversational style of teaching in their podcasts, videos, and books. This was the curriculum we used when we learned and we can not recommend it enough. Now until December 7th shop their massive book sale at 10-15% off.

iTalki: Get $10 when you spend $50

While it is possible to learn Korean on your own, there is just nothing like getting one-on-one time with a native speaking teacher. iTalki brings in the personal touch with hundreds of qualified and kind tutors ready to help you succeed in your language goals. I’ve personally used iTalki for years and have LOVED the experience. The teachers are patient and the pricing is low enough even my college student budget doesn’t complain. If you want to make progress fast and learning fun, iTalki is the secret.

From now through November 30th new users will get $10 free when they purchase $50 worth of lessons. (Considering many teacher give lessons that are less than $10 a piece, this is like getting a lesson for free!)

Innovative Languages’ KoreanClass101 41% off

Another of my favorite Korean language learning resources Innovative Languages’s KoreanClass101 does a amazing job at making language learning easy for everyone. Whether online or in the app, learners can enjoy absorbing Korean language and culture through short, leveled videos and podcasts created by some of the best teachers in the industry. Although only currently available online, my favorite part of their curriculum (and the reason I got a subscription) is the easily customizable flashcards and word lists. It shouldn’t be so hard to find flashcards for common Korean words, and with Innovative Languages it isn’t. Some subscription levels also include individual tutoring as well, although I haven’t tried that feature yet.

VPNs (Watch Country Locked Web Videos)

There are few things which I consider more essential to following Asian dramas and culture than a good VPN. Depending on where you live, so much of Asian content is locked by country restrictions on sites like YouTube, Netflix, and Viki. So if you want safe, legal access to this content where you live, there is no better solution that a good VPN. VPN’s work by routing your computer’s connection through their servers making it appear that you are viewing the site from the country you selected. As a bonus, because you are not viewing the site directly, you are also protected from many online threats as well (making it safer if you decide to view your dramas from a shadier site.)

NordVPN: 68% off Plus 3 Free Months

While there are many VPNs out there, NordVPN is still my trusted favorite. While it is one of the best at safety and has a HUGE list of countries to route through, I must admit its biggest draw is that it allows me to change countries on Netflix — something most VPNs can’t do.

Other VPN Deals:

VyprVPN: Limited Time Only Buy 2 Years of VyprVPN, Get 1 Year Free. Offer ends in 4 days.

PureVPN: 88% off with 5 year plan.
