New Enlistments: Kang Min Hyuk, Wooyoung, Lee Jung Shin

When it rains it pours!  This week brings the announcement of THREE new sacrifices to the Korean military.  (Yes, it is a sacrifice – for me.)  Wooyoung of 2PM has announced his enlistment, and Kang Min Hyuk(Hospital Ship) and Lee Jung Shin(My First Love,) both of CNBlue, have decided to join their hyung Jung Yong Hwa in enlisting this year as well.

It is difficult to imagine letting go of almost the entire CNBlue group in the same year, but it actually makes a lot of sense for the group.  If everyone leaves together then they can return at the same time as well, right?  (I have never understood the logic behind groups who send out their members at sporadic times so that the group goes missing for ages while they wait for the younger members to finish serving.)

When making the official statement regarding their enlistment, Min Hyuk and Jung Shin’s agencies were careful in stating that the idols intend to enlist on the same day but in separate locations, and that the enlistments would be done quietly.  Considering the recent news that G-Dragon’s fangirls have completely overwhelmed the military’s mail service with their love, is it any wonder that these boys are choosing to be discreet?

Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin will both be enlisting on July 31.

Woo young will have big shoes to fill as he enters his military career.  Fellow 2PM member Taecyeon, who entered service last September, rescinded his permanent residence visa in order to be able to serve in the military.  Another 2PM member, Jun K. has already received an “honorary mention for outstanding performance” since he enlisted two months ago.

Aside from his part of 2PM, to me Wooyoung will always be the gorgeous love interest of IU in Dream High.  It confounds me why this cutie’s acting career hasn’t taken off like his costars, Suzy, Taecyeon, IU, and Kim Soo Hyun.  But I guess there will be more opportunities when he comes back.  He and IU were so adorable together.

Wooyoung will enlist quietly on July 9.
