Ha Ji Won and Jin Goo’s “Prometheus” Announces Open Audition for Key Role
A new actor may be taking a key role in Ha Ji Won and Jin Goo‘s new drama “Prometheus.” JEIL Media Group, the production company behind the drama, announced today that they will be holding open auditions for the role of Song Chae Yul, a teenage genius whose story becomes entangled with Ha Ji Won and Jin Goo’s.
“Prometheus” is the intense tale of a female intelligence officer, played by Ha Ji Won, who is given the impossible mission of denuclearizing North Korea. Accompanying her on her mission, Jin Goo’s character is an ambassador who was serving in the North Korean Embassy in Moscow before getting swept up in the cascade of events. The two of them go undercover as a married couple to enter North Korea. However, when they arrive a mysterious girl genius appears before them.
So far, all we know about this girl is that she is North Korean, a genius, and a nuclear physicist. JEIL Media explained in their report that they originally held closed auditions for the her role. But ultimately, they made the decision to open the auditions.
Although I love all the young actors and actresses currently in dramaland, it is always exciting to me when companies decide to hold open auditions. It is a great opportunity for amateurs to get their break, and oftentimes the auditions locate truly amazing talents. Let’s hope they find someone exciting this time.
“Prometheus” is currently planned to air late this year.
