Park Hyung Sik Begins Military Service (Plus Release Date Announced)

It is a sad day for ZE:A’S as Park Hyung Sik, our beloved KPop and KDrama star, heads off for military service. Park Hyung Sik bowed goodbye to his fans this afternoon (June 10, 2019) on the way into Nonsan Army Recruit Training Center in South Chungcheong Province. Although he wished to enter quietly, and even chose to wear a mask, reporters and fans still crowded around to snap a final photo of their beloved star.

The countdown began back on April 29th when Park Hyung Sik’s agency first announced his enlistment date. Although with the recent enlistment changes from the government, most fans knew Park Hyung Sik would not be able to postpone his enlistment it still caused a stir of sadness.

Park Hyung Sik will remain at Nonsan Training Center for five weeks while he completes basic military training. Then afterward, he will emerge with perfect abs and head to the military police department of the Capital Defense Command to complete his service.

According to an article on Soompi Park Hyung Sik decided to apply for the police department because of his time on the Variety Show “Real Men.” In the show, male and female celebrities experience the daily life of a Korean soldier and undergo some basic training. While on the show, Park Hyung Sik received praise for his excellent shooting skills while at the police department so he “thought he would be able to use his talents to full potential in the unit in real life as well.”
